"So what did you do?" I asked curiously. Forrest had an air of mystery about him that made me want to listen to him for hours. Which I had been doing all night. 
"Well, I found my dad's wallet and took enough money to buy 2 tickets to the Carnival that was in town. My brother and I stayed at the Carnival all day, even until the park closed for teens. Thats when Ms. Heather found us."
"Who is Ms. Heather?"
"She's kinda like my second mom, since my real one is... dead."
"Oh. Well continue on."
"Ms. Heather politely asked where our parents were and I told her my mom was dead and my dad... well I couldn't take my brother back to that situation. She felt bad and decided to see if, somehow, she could find a way to help us out. She called my dad and he said that he would love for her take us of his hands."
"So you stayed at the Carnival?"
"For 14 years?"
"Yea, pretty much. Been here my whole life. These people are my family."
"So your like a run away?"
"Well, kinda. My dad did say he didnt want us."
"Dont you ever miss him?"
"Sometimes, but its very rare. I like to push that thought out of my mind. He almost killed me, so I dont see how I can love a person that did that."
"wow. Wait, your brother... where is he now?'
"He died at age 10. I was 12... but he did have his mental illness, and he had been almost beaten to death many times. Heather got me through it."
I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Jamie... surprisingly conscience. she blinked her eyes at me a few times before talking, "Who's your friend?" she asked in an almost whisper.
"Oh, this is Forrest, Forest, Jamie." i turned around and looked at where forrest was standing to find... no Forest.
"Thanks for introducing me to your imaginary friend, now whose that beside you."
i looked over to the right to find a random teen guy sitting beside me i hadn't noticed before. 
"erm... i dont know. Uh, Hi... jamie, guy i dont know, guy i dont know, Jamie." 
as he introduced himself as Micheal, i looked up and down the bar for Forest who was not present. Then around the room. Where had he gone?
i looked down at the coaster that was not stained with water droplets. I moved my cup and flipped around... to find a note:
"Now i want to hear your story... meet me here again tomorrow night. see you at 11. -Forest"
