I woke up with a plan in mind. I had to leave that morning. Tell Walter you were running errands, pull some money to get by with out of the ATM, get a new job, change name and looks, and find a small apartment to live in. It would work, right?
I got up and got dressed. Walter was still asleep by the time I got done, so I poked him on the shoulder. 
"ugggghhhhh." he said as he rolled over on his back, "yes hun?"
"Im going to run some errands, okay?" 
"Ya, sure. Fine with me." he rolled over on his side away from me and returned to his loud snore.
I slowly made my way down the steps careful not to wake the children, but also taking in the last time I would probably make my way down the steps. Tears welled up in my eyes as I walked to the children's rooms and kissed there foreheads. As I kissed Marianna's head her eyes fluttered open and she yawned.
"shhh." i told her, "go back to sleep now."
As i walked out of the house and made my way to the car I wiped my eyes. 
I was going to miss their wedding, their graduation, their teen years, but at least they could keep a good family name. 
It was right what I was doing. It was unselfish, and I could sleep at night knowing what I did was for the better of my family.
I took one last look at the house and sighed. At least I had left a note telling walter to get some better landscaping and to paint the house white. That would make the house look a lot better.
